Southwest Rides recognizes the bicycle as a resource to foster self-assurance and creativity among young people. We teach basic bicycle mechanics and repair, promote environmental stewardship, and run a youth ride club.
Earn-A-Bike
Southwest Rides is a social-purpose business subsidiary of Urban Neighborhood Initiatives, a non-profit 501(c)3. As part of our partnership with Urban Neighborhood Initiatives, we facilitate their Earn A Bike program. Youth in the Earn A Bike program have the opportunity to earn a bicycle, helmet and lock by committing to attend 12 sessions where they learn basic bicycle maintenance. Students repair a donated bike under the supervision of our EAB Coordinator. Once they complete the curriculum, the bike is theirs to keep!
